Laura Mahler

Director, Film the Change

Laura always dreamt of travelling the world and making films as a child. She’s been lucky to clean beaches in SE Asia, run marathons for conservation and work with entrepreneurs and other researchers face-to-face. She has an MRes in Environmental Research from King’s College London and has presented her work internationally. But with the aim of reaching more people, she moved from academia to combine her passion for discovering and sharing innovative solutions to environmental challenges, with her passion for film.

After the small topic of plastic pollution blew up and drew massive new media attention, so did her little film, and she founded Film The Change, a non-profit focused on documentary. @filmthechange

She is also a rower, writer and budding photographer, now obsessed with the pairing of visual storytelling and activism.
